Chicago Women's Health Center and the Riot Grrrl movement emerged at different times, but both were inspired by the same goal: creating an alternative to the existing model.

CWHC's mission is to facilitate the empowerment of women and trans people by providing access to gynecological health care, alternative insemination, health education, and counseling services in a respectful environment where clients pay what they can afford.

This fall, CWHC will be moving to a new home. In order to do that, we need your support! Now through the end of May, when you make a donation to CWHC you will not only help us bring quality, affordable health care to more people, you will also receive awesome, riot grrrl-inspired artwork* by Laura Szumowski. After 30 years in its current location, Chicago Women's Health Center is moving! The Race for Space is our $150,000 capital campaign to expand and relocate.

We are proud to announce that in support of our efforts, the Topfer Family Foundation will help us close our campaign with a matching grant. In order to receive this grant, we need to raise $35,000 by June 30, 2011. By donating now, you will double your impact and help send us on our way to our new home!

CWHC's new location will more than double our current space, with additional room for counseling, clinical exams, and workshops. It will provide greater accessibility, and accommodate growth according to the community's changing needs.
